MCM Program Goals

By completing this graduate program, MCM students will:

  • Demonstrate the ability to articulate, critique, or elaborate theories, methods, approaches, and practices across a range of communication contexts.
  • Develop the ability to critically assess and solve communication problems by thinking analytically about communication challenges, applying communication theory & practices, and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Develop coherent, logical, persuasive, and effective writing practices in an appropriate tone/voice.
  • Recognize issues and articulate the ethical dimensions of a variety of communication situations.
  • Comprehend and integrate the Social Impact (CSR) perspective into organizational communication strategies.
  • Demonstrate awareness and respect of diverse perspectives and the ways they influence communication. Create communication content adapted to the diverse needs of individuals, groups, and contexts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research in crafting appropriate research questions/theses, designing and executing appropriate methods, analyzing data, and presenting findings of original research.
  • Demonstrate mastery through the synthesis and application of various communication theories, models, principles, and practices.

Advance your career with an MCM specialization. We offer on-campus, online, and hybrid courses each semester, giving you the flexibility to earn your master’s degree while balancing work and life. All MCM students take the same five core courses (12 credits), then choose seven electives (24 credits) within one specialization. Choose one of these six specializations:

Earn Your Degree from Anywhere in the World

In New Jersey

We offer on-campus, online, and hybrid courses each semester to give our students the schedule flexibility to earn their master’s degree while balancing the other parts of their lives, especially while working. We offer fully online courses each semester, including winter and summer semesters. Our ‘live’ classes (on-campus and online via Zoom) are offered weeknights (Monday-Thursday) between 6-9 p.m.

From Anywhere in the World

You can also earn our unique degree from anywhere in the world with our fully online program. We offer our program fully online (asynchronous and synchronous to allow you to study from anywhere in the world. Same degree with the same benefits and requirements.
