Select a Minor
At SC&I, all undergraduate students must complete a minor unless they are pursuing a double major. Our minors in Digital Communication, Information, and Media; Gender and Media; and Data Science build skills that pair with any major and expand your academic and professional opportunities.
Open to all Rutgers students, each minor offers a focused path to explore emerging fields in communication, information, and media. Learn more about requirements and how to declare.
Digital Communication, Information and Media Minor (DCIM)
DCIM minor complements every major across the Rutgers academic spectrum and provides you with the ability to research, evaluate, develop and share digital content.
Gender and Media Minor
The Gender and Media minor complements every major across the Rutgers academic spectrum and provides you with the ability to use media to positively impact a culture that is highly reflective of mass media viewpoints.
Data Science Minor
The 19-credit program will enable you to become proficient in the principles of computation, statistical inference, and data management, and their applications in a specific domain/field.
Communication, Journalism and Media Studies, Information Technology and Informatics majors all offer dual-degree pathways that let you enroll in the Master of Communication and Media or Master of Information programs while completing your bachelor’s degree, saving time and tuition dollars.
