Scholarship Incubators

The third SC&I Teaching Incubator, “Teaching in the AI Era,” provided the SC&I community with the opportunity to explore and discuss issues such as Rutgers' orientation toward AI and teaching; how SC&I instructors are using AI in their courses; and how SC&I graduates are leveraging AI tools in their professional fields.

The sixth annual SC&I Scholarly Incubator, “Innovation in Digital Research,” was held virtually on March 6, 2024, to provide an opportunity for faculty members and doctoral students to address, investigate, and discuss areas ranging from digital ethnography to computational methods, and incorporating critical takes on recent developments in social science and society.

The aim of this year’s incubator, hosted by and for the school’s scholarly community, was "to explore the connections among DEI&A and the digitalization of life and living for the conduct of inclusive discovery in SC&I’s research and pedagogy".

The goal of this year's incubator was to explore issues surrounding the practice of engaged scholarship at Rutgers and what engaged work means within and for the school.

The goal of this year’s incubator was to discuss ethical issues in academic life – both in our everyday relationships with others and the world around us, as well as in the subject matter we study. 

The goal of this year's incubator was to addressed pedagogy and student wellness by sharing best practices, teaching models, the pros and cons of student use of technology in the classroom, and ways faculty can play a critical role in supporting student health.

The goal of this year's incubator was to provide SC&I faculty with an opportunity to discuss insights their research on media, information, and communication offer about fake news and alternative facts.
