Scholarship Incubators
The Rutgers School of Communication and Information (SC&I) 2026 Scholarly Incubator, titled "Key Questions," brought together the school’s scholarly community to address, investigate, and discuss a central topic: What are the fundamental shared questions SC&I scholars pursue that make the school an intellectual hub for basic research and foundational scholarship on communication, information, and media and their intersections?
The third SC&I Teaching Incubator, “Teaching in the AI Era,” provided the SC&I community with the opportunity to explore and discuss issues such as Rutgers' orientation toward AI and teaching; how SC&I instructors are using AI in their courses; and how SC&I graduates are leveraging AI tools in their professional fields.
The sixth annual SC&I Scholarly Incubator, “Innovation in Digital Research,” was held virtually on March 6, 2024, to provide an opportunity for faculty members and doctoral students to address, investigate, and discuss areas ranging from digital ethnography to computational methods, and incorporating critical takes on recent developments in social science and society.
The aim of this year’s incubator, hosted by and for the school’s scholarly community, was "to explore the connections among DEI&A and the digitalization of life and living for the conduct of inclusive discovery in SC&I’s research and pedagogy".
