Checklist for Graduates
To attend SC&I’s graduation convocation on May 14 at the Jersey Mike's Arena, you must RSVP for yourself and all of your guests during the month of April. Please RSVP anytime before April 30.
We guarantee each student 8 tickets for your guests, plus one for yourself. You can request up to an additional 7 tickets, and we will confirm to you in early May whether we can allocate them to you.
You only need to register once. When you submit your RSVP, you will receive a confirmation email so you will know your registration went through. If you have any problems with the RSVP, or need to change your ticket order, email graduation@comminfo.rutgers.edu.
Order your cap and gown through the online portal.
Important dates to know:
Ship-to-home deadline: March 30
In-store pick-up begins: April 1
You can also purchase or pick up regalia in person at the Grad Fair at Barnes & Noble April 1–2, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (In-store purchases and pick-up only)
There will be no regalia available at Jersey Mike’s Arena for graduates to wear, so bring your own. But graduates without regalia will still have your name called and walk across the stage.
On Monday, May 4, you will receive your tickets in the Rutgers Athletics portal at scarletknights.com/tickets. Use the portal rather than downloading the app.
Do not create a new account, if you are a Rutgers student you have an existing account. Log in with your NetID in this format - netID@rutgers.edu – and use your NetID password.
If one of your guests does not have a smartphone and will be arriving alone, they can go to the ticket office and someone will help them get into the arena.

No parking permits are needed for graduates or guests. You can park in the in the Yellow and Green lots near the Jersey Mike's Arena. There will be security officers around the parking area to help direct you.
While your family is welcome to take photos of you as your name is called, Island Photography will be taking several pictures of all graduates as you cross the stage. They will email you proofs within a day of the ceremony. If you register in advance with them, you can arrange to have your proofs mailed to your family as well. There is no obligation to make a purchase. There will be a vendor on site selling flowers and small gifts for graduates.
All graduates and their guests are welcome to attend the Rutgers-New Brunswick and Rutgers Health Commencement ceremony at SHI Stadium on Sunday, May 17.
How is Commencement different from SC&I’s convocation? Commencement is a fun, ceremonial event at the football stadium. While all graduates are honored at Commencement, no students are called by name. SC&I’s convocation is where your name will be called. For all the details about Commencement, visit the Commencement website.
Undergraduates: If you are a SC&I major graduating from SAS, SEBS, MGSA, or another Rutgers school, you may attend both schools’ ceremonies, or just one. In any case, your diploma will be mailed home to you. Check the university website for details about other school events. There are a number of other graduation events you may choose to attend, such as the ceremony for your four-year school, Rites of Passage, Old Queen's Senior Reception, and more. Doctoral students: You will be hooded at the SC&I ceremony. You will also be recognized at the School of Graduate Studies ceremony.You may also participate in the School of Graduate Studies convocation on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m.
