Strategic and Leadership Communication Specialization
The Strategic and Leadership Communication specialization within the Master of Communication and Media program emphasizes theory-informed, research-based study of organizational process, structure, and interaction, as well as the use of new communication technologies in organizational and societal contexts. This specialization prepares students for careers in leadership, corporate communication, advocacy, consulting, training, management, and social media.
Requirements for Strategic and Leadership Communication
As part of the Master of Communication and Media program, all Strategic Organizational and Leadership Communication students are required to complete:
Students may take any Master of Communication and Media course related to their research interests. Any combination of courses can count toward electives. Students do not need to stay within a track for fulfillment of electives. Students may apply up to six credits from outside of SC&I (including those transferred in and approved by the Program Director from other Universities).
The following are recommended for Strategic and Leadership Communication:
A special topics course gives you the chance to explore unique or emerging subjects while shaping your studies to match your interests. With an interdisciplinary approach, these courses offer interactive, hands-on learning experiences that can boost your research skills and career preparation.
