As a freshman, Sledge-Pearson planned to major in Chemistry. When she discovered SC&I and the IT and Informatics major, she knew she needed to make a switch.

Through his work with Rutgers Athletic Communications, Sean Abramik COM’26 discovered a passion for sports media. He now aspires to work for a professional team such as the New York Knicks, and one day, he'd like to be part of the Olympic media team.
Valeria Yanez COM’26 balances leadership roles in Rutgers PRSSA, Scarlet PR, and Lambda Pi Eta while gaining hands-on experience that helped her land an internship with the New York Yankees.
The scholarship will enable Arshad to attend the Power of Narrative Conference hosted by Boston University College of Communication in March 2026.
