Science, Technology, and Society Working Group
The Science, Technology, and Society Working Group is a new interdisciplinary hub at SC&I for scholars in communication, media studies, library and information science, history, sociology, and anthropology working at the intersection of technology, science, and society.
About
Science and Technology Studies (STS) is a field that brings together many of our School's core concerns: scholars across our departments all ask versions of the same question — how do technological and information systems, scientific knowledge, and social institutions shape one another? The STS Working group aims to build and support a sustained, intellectual, and easy to join space for interdisciplinary research at SC&I and across the Rutgers campus.
The working group is designed around three goals for the next 2 years: a collective reading program (one classic and one contemporary STS text each semester), rotating faculty development sessions, and doctoral mentorship.
