Admissions and Costs
As a Communication major, you’ll learn the theory and practice of communication, developing skills you can apply immediately and throughout a career in any field you choose.
Admission to the Communication major is selective. Before you can apply, you must first meet these requirements:
The 36 credits of coursework for a Communication major include six courses (18 credits) in core areas and six courses (18 credits) in your chosen specialization.
Take the Next Step!
If you are a prospective freshman or a prospective transfer student, you must first apply to Rutgers through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
SC&I offers three minors:
After you’ve completed the minor course requirements with a grade of C or better and confirmed the specific requirements for your academic program, you may declare the minor.
Students of other Rutgers colleges (Business, Engineering, Mason Gross, Nursing, etc.) use the DCIM Minor Declaration Form and submit it to the Office of Student Services.
