Assistant Dean for Career Services

Ildi Koczan leads SC&I Career Services, supporting students and alumni as they explore career paths, build professional skills, connect with employers, and prepare for career success. She is a nationally certified counselor and career development professional with experience in human resources, higher education career advising, and career services leadership

Bernadette Gailliard

Assistant Director for Career Services

Bernadette Gailliard brings expertise in organizational development, coaching, communication, leadership development, and organizational change to her work with SC&I Career Services. Her background includes more than 12 years of experience in organizational development, consulting, coaching, higher education, and scholarship in communication and organizations. 

Credit Internship Programs

  • Communication Undergraduate Internship Program offers information on how to identify internship options and find the right internship; receive credit while interning with a company or organization; manage a workload as a student and intern.
  • The IT & Informatics Internship is approximately 150 hours of workplace employment that represents a significant learning opportunity for the student.
  • A JMS Internship is a highly recommended capstone experience for majors. Our students pursue placements in major media outlets throughout the New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia markets.
  • The strategic location of the MCM program within the research corridors of Northern and Central New Jersey, and near the greater metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia, provide unparalleled opportunities within multiple industries.
  • The MI program prepares students for a range of career trajectories. The program offers seven concentrations that help students focus on career goals, including Library and Information Science; Archives and Preservation; Data Science; Health Information; Human-Computer Interaction; Informatics and Design; School Librarianship; and Technology, Information, and Management.
    The MI program also offers students a concentration with an opportunity to create their own pathway.
