Biography
Liyang Xue's research interests are artificial intelligence, health informatics, and the ethical use of technology in healthcare and society. Xue’s work broadly explores how data-driven and machine learning methods can be used to address challenges in health informatics and digital well-being. This includes projects on understanding language use in clinical documentation and leveraging digital behavior data to gain insights into social and psychological health. By combining expertise in natural language processing, predictive modeling, and responsible artificial intelligence, Liyang aims to develop solutions that promote equity, reduce bias, and support vulnerable populations in both clinical and digital contexts.
Currently, Liyang is conducting research on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to address challenges in health informatics and digital well-being. Ongoing projects focus on analyzing clinical documentation and digital behavioral data to better understand and mitigate bias, stigma, and social isolation. Looking ahead, Xue aims to develop ethical, data-driven tools that can promote equity and improve outcomes in healthcare and society.
