Biography

Alexis Welch began her career in education as a high‑school teacher, shaping her foundation in student learning and development. She carried this foundation into higher education, where she now champions student success with equal parts strategy, empathy, and precision.

Since joining SC&I in 2022, Welch has supported graduate students in navigating their academic pathways while advancing initiatives to strengthen policy frameworks and elevate the overall student experience, work that earned her the 2024 Staff Excellence Award.

An active member of several national professional organizations, Welch remains deeply engaged in the evolving landscape of higher education and committed to advancing effective, student‑centered practices. She is especially passionate about helping individuals identify and leverage their strengths to pursue meaningful career pathways. Outside the office, she finds inspiration in leadership theory, literature, and travel.
