Biography
Lehnert is principal taxonomist at NIKE, Inc and teaches Metadata for Digital Asset Management in SC&I's Digital Asset Management Certificate program. He is an information and knowledge management professional with over twenty years of experience in taxonomy, text analytics, and search, as well as content and records management. He has developed enterprise taxonomies, as well as knowledge development and retrieval strategies as a consultant and full-time employee in a broad range of industries. He writes about and is a frequent speaker on industry topics in corporate webinars, conferences, and a host of other venues.
Lehnert holds a master's degree in English Literature & Language from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and a bachelor's degree in English, Education, and History from Eastern Michigan University. His first career was teaching english literature and composition in secondary and college institutions before working in controlled vocabularies and information science. He lives and works in Oakland, CA. If you don’t find him swimming in information, you will find him swimming laps.
