Biography
Kevin J. Ewell directs the Office of Student Services, which is the administrative unit responsible for providing academic, career, and personal support to SC&I undergraduate and graduate students throughout their student journey. He is also responsible for strategic planning, staff supervision, student engagement, and assessment of advising within the Office of Student Services. Ewell aims to ensure that all students have an inclusive, enriched experience at SC&I.
Ewell is a three-time alumnus of Rutgers University, completing his undergraduate degree at Rutgers College (now SAS) and his Master’s and doctoral degrees at the Graduate School of Education. Ewell began his higher education career at Rutgers University in the Office of Residence Life. He moved into academic affairs, serving as an assistant dean in the Rutgers College Office of Academic Services before leaving for The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). While at TCNJ, he served as an assistant dean in the School of Education and then as an assistant dean in the Office of Admissions before returning to Rutgers in 2010 to join SC&I.
Ewell is a Rutgers Leadership Academy Fellow, has served as an Ewing Township Board of Education member, and was on the RU-NB Discovery Advantage committee. He currently serves as an RU SJE-LGBTQIA liaison, co-chair of the Rutgers GSE Alumni Association Governance Committee, an NCAA faculty mentor for Rutgers Track and Field, and as a member of the University Academic Athletics Oversight Committee. He enjoys fishing, hiking, bowling, reading autobiographies, volunteering, and spending time with his family.
