Biography
Guanxiong (Tony) Wang is interested in understanding the relationship between people and the environment, with a particular focus on urgent environmental challenges such as climate change. His research primarily employs quantitative approaches, including statistical analysis and computational social science, while he hopes to incorporate qualitative methods, such as content analysis, in future work to develop a more comprehensive understanding of this relationship.
Wang's research interests lie at the intersection of environmental communication and environmental psychology. More specifically, he examines how individuals across societies perceive, evaluate, and respond to the global climate crisis, and how social media, as an increasingly integrated part of everyday life, can facilitate collective action to address climate change and help people better understand and respond appropriately to its risks.
