Biography
Gina Marcello is a three-time alumna of the School of Communication and Information (B.A. Communication 1993, MCIS 1995, and Ph.D. 2008), interested in interdisciplinary media literacy education. She focuses on the intersection of media consumption, misinformation, and mindful information processing, with a particular interest in how screen time and digital environments influence cognitive processing. Through her teaching and research, she aims to equip individuals with epistemic tools to navigate the complex media landscape, emphasizing the importance of critical information engagement and digital wellness.
