David Greenberg

Biography

David Greenberg is a historian of American politics and culture, with a focus on America since 1900. His award-winning books include Nixon's Shadow: The History of an Image (Norton, 2003), Republic of Spin: An Inside History of the American Presidency (Norton, 2016), and, most recently, John Lewis: A Life (Simon & Schuster, 2016). His work explores politics, the presidency, Congress, the Supreme Court, political parties, political culture, political ideas and ideology, civil rights, public opinion, and public policy. He also writes about a range of cultural topics, including literature and film; about journalism, news, and the news media; and about biography, historiography, and historical writing.

His most recent book is John Lewis: A Life, which, among other honors, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in biography.
