This course provides an overview of the profession of public librarianship in the U.S. It covers public library organizational structures, policy development, advocacy, and marketing, as well as the role of public libraries as agents of social change. Course modules and assignments address the development of public library programming initiatives, as well as emerging trends affecting U.S. public library services.
