Biography
Erin Christie's scholarly contributions include many conference papers, top paper awards, and recognition for excellence in both teaching and service. She specializes in translating the intellectual principles in her field to applied practice, and therefore enjoys communication skills coaching for various audiences.
In addition to serving as the advisor of the Association of Women in Communication, Christie advises two competitive, national award-winning forensics teams at Rutgers: the Rutgers Public Speaking Organization and the Rutgers University Debate Union. Most recently, she developed a Presentation Skills Tutoring Program in collaboration with the Rutgers Learning Center.
In spring 2025, the Rutgers Public Speaking Organization was awarded the Chancellor's Leadership Revolutionary Award for demonstrating a long-term on-campus commitment that provides a high level of peer mentoring or leadership in connection to fostering learning opportunities for students. Christie is passionate about her service opportunities, namely continuing to grow the Association for Women in Communication.
