Sunburnt

Hah, I'm flamingo pink. I sat out in the sun on Sunday to get alittle color since I was pasty white after being inside nearly all winter. Long story short I sat out there for too long. My shoulders have huge blister's (10+) and need to know how to dress them. I have Silvadine that's for burns, should I use that or Neosporin or something else?

Right now I have them covered with Neosporin and non-stick gauze on them.

Thanks.

-Chris

I know if you apply Apple Cider Vinegar to the burns it will help to ease the pain, making it more tolerable to sleep at night. Apply it about 2 or 3 times a day with cotton balls. As far as the blisters, not a clue. I have never been burned that bad. I have skin that tans very quickly and when I do get burn it lasts about 1 or 2 days and is gone. Good luck on finding a remedy. -Eddie-

I've done it in my youth. I'd use silvadene, unless the blisters burst, then go neosporin, but I'm only guessing. I might actually go to the dr. or ER, hope it's high enough you don't get AD.

Hi,

It must have been a good burn to get that many blisters. Do not pop the blisters and let them break on their own. You can use silvadene while intact and some people continue it when blisters break or else you can keep very clean an clvered, using neosporin or anantibiotic ointment.

Need I say that you shouldn't stay in the sun that long for obvious reasons and always wear a strong sunblock. Watch out for any pus drainage or sign of infection, for which you need to see a doctor.

OW! Assuming that is you in your avatar, I bet you burn easily. (I sure do!) AAdi is rightm lotions with aloe help. If by 10+ you mean that you have lots of little tiny blisters, it should be enough. But if they are big, you might want to have them looked at.

Sorry GoTWHeels I hope they heal fast w/o any infection.
I'm white as a ghost too. I'm trying a few minutes a day.
But I've been there done that in my younger years.
Take care!

OK, here's the deal. My right shoulder is badly toasted. Its oozing yellow, is that good or bad? The tape that was holding the gauze on ripped my top skin off when we were changing it this morning and it hurts something terrible, but I can't tell if its the burn or where the skinned ripped. I have it covered in neosporin, wont that keep the infection away? Would peroxide help, isn't that for infection? I really dont wanna go see a doc, surely I can get through this....everyone always says "go to the e.r. or the doc" about every little thing.

The worst part is its my right shoulder and I havent been able to drive. boo hoo....
