well Cory&Ashley, I tried that peppermint mocha and...
It turned out that I actually liked it. And you two are to blame for it! Lol, I can see it now - in a year I'll be guzzling regular coffee, two creams, one sugar, to go and the empty cups will no doubt be sure to pile up on the floor of the car (no, let's not go there, please!). It used to be when I was a kid growing up I never drank coffee, not even one sip. My grandmother claimed in approval that kids who drank too much coffee were stunted. Well, my younger brother guzzled coffee all the time and he ended up 3 1/2 inches taller than me (I'm 5-10 on a good hair day). Goes to show you what my grandmother knew, lol.
I'm just pleasantly suprised is all, figured you folks might as well know. Some of my friends meet up at Starbucks every once in a while, all the drinks are on one of the guy's tab tonight. So it helped that I wasn't paying. Last time I ended up having some apple caramel spice, which was more or less a spicy cider - tasted great of course but not really going out on a limb. I really can't overstate how difficult it is to get me to try coffee - this is the first time in living memory I've ever drank anything closer to coffee than hot chocolate. So how did it taste? Well, like peppermint with a hint of hot chocolate and a fairly strong (but not bitter or nasty) hint of coffee, not unlike an unsweetened coffee candy maybe. Kinda hard to describe. But good! Darn you and your infamous Starbucks stories, Cory! ![]() Tom |

I was at a ski lodge recently, they sold a hot drink called a Peppermint Patty. It was real homemade hot chocolate, with a shot of peppermint schnapps, whipped cream, the full monty. Tasted just like a peppermint patty. I just wanted those for lunch LOL, so delicious!

Glad you tried it finally!! It's fun for me to splurge on those every once in awhile. I have to police myself though or else I get carried away! In my opinion, it's the perfect mix of chocolate, coffee, and mintiness. I was like you when i was little and hated coffee, thought i'd hate it forever, but now it's growing on me. Now wine is another story...I don't think i'll ever get the taste for it.
