Active Regeneration

A program called Active Regeneration (AR) for those paralyzed due to spinal cord injury (SCI) or other disability has been available on a limited basis for the past 15 years. Active Regeneration (AR) is a program that is based on the use of specialized equipment in a clinical or home-based setting that helps to improve long-term health and function of those paralyzed by spinal cord injury or other diagnosis (SCI/OD) such as multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, stroke, or traumatic brain injury.

To help determine the best way to expand the AR program to more people in more areas, researchers at the University of Houston are conducting a study about the degree of interest in the disability community in such programs to improve health and function.

In order to participate in this study one should be paralyzed due to spinal cord injury or other disability resulting in paralysis such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, stroke, or traumatic brain injury. If you are paralyzed and would like to contribute to the AR study please go to our link to answer the survey questions which should take about 10 minutes. Thank you.

I am a C4 Quad attempting to collect data for my masters thesis. My goal is to get input from individuals living with disability, and give that perspective about programming to improve health and function. The program outlined is called Active Regeneration. Check it out.

If you follow link it should take 10 minutes or less. Thanks!>>

PS -- I could've attempted a "typical" survey protocol and chased wheelchair users around malls etc. etc. to get input. But I would rather use this format. Thanks again!

Yeah, it was easy and collected no real personal data.

Well, no harm answering it, but it's rather vague. I thought AR was simply the SCIer positively participating in his/her rehab, rather than passively relying solely on others. What equipment is being referred to? - fw
