bladder shrink
ive almost had my suprepubic cath for 1 year but will be moving onto ic very shortly. will my bladder have shrunk during this time? could ic still be practical?
my last urodynamics test was september last year and my bladder could take up to 500ml. i havent had any other test after that but just wondered if this capacity could shrink due to my indwelling? help plzzzzzzzzzzz

Hello nafi,
I used a suprapublic catheter for 4.5 years. It was removed and I reflex voided for the next 33 years. For the last 3 years, I have done CIC and when necessary, can hold up to about 800 ml's. I did not do any special exercises after SP removal. Good luck, |

It is possible for it to shrink but there are meds like Oxybutyin & Detrol and Botox injections that can be used to relax the bladder so it will hold more & help it stretch back.
