What happen when a motorcycle rider crashes in a car

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/955746/

Makes you think twice about riding a motorcycle on the road, which I use to do. Ouch!

Freaky...Just hope and pray I don't do that...been in enough close calls where people in cars just don't care...I saw a motorcycle accident and I still don't know if the kid lived or died...

OUCH!

I was so proud to have my motorcycle license. I enjoyed riding and miss it. Every summer for the first 3-4 years after my injury I would get really depressed seeing people (especially girls) out on their bikes.

After viewing the video, I thought about it - why do some people choose to 'hang it up?' Insecurity, of course. I've seen it happen before, even the most skilled and self-assured riders. So no, I don't fault anyone for it. I do think that Wise's point is misplaced. Wouldn't it be better to attempt to educate the motoring public in this country to respect motorcyclists and drive more safely than to consider them a threat to their supposedly God-given right to own the entire road, disregard motorcyclists and worst of all, view them as a menace to society?

I used to ride a sportbike (2002 Yamaha FZ1), till it got repossessed. I still could if I lost enough weight, and absolutely intend to get another bike even if its the last thing i do and I have to be buried with it (the bike, dammit ). Most deaths and injuries to motorcyclists are the result of a motorist turning left in front of the motorcycle. "I never saw him!" is the oft-uttered cry when asked by the police at the scene....and why? Because the cager (car driver) fundamentally fails to respect the motorcyclist's right to the road, same as a car. I know more than a few people here will agree with my sentiment. I survived 15,000 miles over a 16 month period only because of my extreme paranoia, which saved my life more than a few times when cagers tried to kill me (EVERY DAY). So I guess it's not suprising I'm still as resolved as ever to get a bike again and ride to the ends of the earth at the first opportunity

in summary, I think it would be better to stand up and educate the public at large rather than fold and hang up the helmet because its too dangerous.
