I have been looking through the threads and have ran a search for this and came up empty. There are threads that touch the subject but that is it. So far the only one that even comes close is "thread to bitch and complain"
So I chose to start this one.. We all have our moments of anger and the stress level goes a little high, I have had lots of those days and I used to just go to work and slam and beat steal, it was a great release.. But now that I have this weakened body I find it hard to release with out verbally hurting the one I love. I try to hold my tongue and bottle it up and hope that it will go away.. I have decided that I am going to find me an old military duffel bag and fill it with saw dust or bark and hang it from the rafters out in my work shop, I cant move that fast and my punches are pretty soft these days same as my grip but I think I can swing a bat and hit the hell out of the bag..and this will be my anger management / stress release .. My question is this: 1) HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH IT ? 2) WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP FROM GOING POSTAL? 3) HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR SANITY? Any and all responses welcomed. Please lets try to keep this with out any debates, and no perverted acts. |

Drugs help d. Have you tried that route? And I do mean the legal ones. Maybe it's time for an antidepressant.
Sorry your feeling down.

I hate the thought of being on any thing these days with all the screwy side affects and that go with them some times the cure is worse than the ailment.
I may have Linda go up and get me a jug of OJ and fix me a real redneck drink, I have about half a 1/5 of everclear left over from a fishing trip a couple of years ago. if I fall off the wagon I might as well do it right, knowing me I'll only have 1 or 2 drinks and eat then pass out. |

I play video games or just take a hot shower while drinking a beer. That works.

hit things (not people)
scream and curse bitch and gripe listen to aggressive music play sports or work out play violent video games while screaming, cursing and listening to aggressive music on the other side: breath deep meditate listen to calming music eat some good food watch the news and realize it isn't only your life you think sucks watch cartoons get some fresh air the cannabis... so basically release anger in a non destructive manner. calm down and do something you enjoy. or... you know, find out whats causing anger and stress and fix what you can and accept what you can't. |

When I'm angry or stress I take a nap. I know that sounds strange, but it works for me. I just don't want to think anymore, so I fall asleep. When I wake up I'm "usually" better.
