baclofen pump moved?

Anyone here with the pump had trouble with it moving? Mine seems to have turned and it hurts. The end of it used to point to my belly button now it is pointing up at my ribs. I moved into a new place and have been doing a lot of bending, dragging stuff, puttin gthings in my lap etc. I don't know if I dislodged it or what. I didn't feel it happen and have good sensation here. It is not extreme pain but uncomfortable. I can't bend like I used to. I can feel it all the time where before I had become somewhat used to it. Can't get in to the office until next week but I am wondering what they will do anyway? I don't have a lot of room here for it to fit anyway only weighing 100.

how do they keep it from moving any how? all the Dr. told me today when I saw him was that the small amount of swelling is normal and the sore ness in a couple spots is from where they made the "pocket" to hold it..so what, it just sets there? I did not ask that Question.

That is why movement is limited for the first 6 weeks and hopefully by the some adhesions have attached to it to keep it from turning. Should aways be carefulw ith vigorous movemet. If it turns too much, it can occlude the tubing and you won't get the medication which can lead to Baclofen withdrawal which can be a emergency situation.

Mine regularly moves a little bit, stays in position but tilts a bit. I guess not quite all the adhesions took or something? I only notice it b/c in the tilted position it pokes me when I bend.

It didn't just tilt. It moved about an inch. It is uncomfortable and at times feels like it's ripping. I hate the stupid thing but it works on the unbelievable tone I had before.

in my "owners manual" it doesn't say that it is stitched in, but rather a pocket is made...okay here is what it says: your pump was surgically implanted. your surgon made a pocket under your skin large enough to hold your pumpthe incission is usually in he lower abdominal area. A second incission was made where one end of the catheter was placed. the other end of the catheder was tunneled under the skin and attached to the pump. Once the catheder and pump were in place, your surgon closed the pocket.

okay that was word for word. could it be possable that it has shifted in the pocket? and that you are feeling the different possition of the pump that may cause the soreness and (bruising)..

Art, picture a base ball field with a glove in the middle of it..now fly over this field with a helicopter and a box of balls, and dump the balls..maybe one of those balls might hit the glove.. that is how taking oral baclofen works...with the intrithical pump it gives you the baclofen were you want it, in your spinal canal..this way it does the job it is ment to oral baclofen has to travel through out your system and maybe it gets to your spinal canal.

EXactly!

The pump delivers about 1/100th of the med, right where it works.
