update of research of the doctor huang

Hi guerdener,

Thank you for your post.

Besides OEC & Schwann cells clinical trial, Dr. Huang is also in deep study of fetal neural stem cells (FNSC) which are obtained from the fetal developing brain. He is trying to develop a more effective combination treatment for patients with central nervous system diseases, which include SCI, ALS and MS etc.

As for the combination treatment, firstly fetal OECs will be transplanted into the sites above and below injured level. Then millions of fetal neural stem cells will be injected into patient's spinal cord via lumbar puncture. Although the follow-up time since treatment has been relatively short, most patients have reported some functional improvements, including increased sensation, ambulatory ability, and bowel and bladder function.

Though the combination treatment seems quite positive, more clinical trials are needed to be done within next few years. In a word, we will keep on exploring any potential treatment for those CNS diseases suffers.

Regards

Angela

Hi guerdener,

Thank you for your explain.

Yes we use OEC & fetal neural stem cell for all patients, except those who take part in other clinical trials, such as Schwann Cells combined OEC clinical trial. The results are very encouraging according to our constant follow-up research, particularly for the cases with CP. It is reported that most of them gained variable improvement after surgery. To my knowledge new papers will soon be released.

Regards

Angela

your opinion wise Young these tests

Hello,

In our current experiment, we inject combination of OEGs and neural stem cells directly into the lesion part, which has displayed good effect.

The reason why alone injection of neural stem cells through lumbar puncture could not remain long effective is not clear yet. There are many researchers are working on it.

Sincerely,

Helen
