Riaan, unfortunatly that happens with most quads because the abdominal muscles for the most part donīt work anymore. Some members here have had some success keeping their tummys somewhat in shape with electro-stimulation, but most look like they drink a case of beer a day. Using an abdominal binder can help support your abdomen as well.

If you are somewhat incomplete and have some muscle function in your abdominal area, you can do some excercises to help develop, or at least maintain what you have.

There are a lot of posts regarding this issue...use the search function and put in quad gut.

Adding to what Mike said: Your body is changing shape. If you slouch in your chair – due to diminished core strength – your guts just naturally spread out. This could also affect your breathing.

Best advice: To whatever extent possible – stand (often), move (often), strengthen core muscles, and use a seating system that promotes good posture.
