Question roomba vacuum

I'm looking into purchasing one of these babies. I remember there were a few peeps on CC that owned one of these handy vacuums. anybody willing to give me a review. let me know the pros and cons. what model do you own? what accessories are must-haves vs not-needed-hoopla ?...would you make the purchase again?

I have one of the originals, it doesn't have a big capacity (especially if you have an animal), but does the job.

It works well as long as you don;t have cluttered floors. But newspapers, shoes and dog toys confuse it!

I don't know what model we have but it is nce to have versus sweeping and vacumming. It cleaned up dog hair very well. The only time ours got stuck was when it somehow got in my shower.

We have the scheduler w/remote control...I now want the newer upgrade one that has a sensor to tell you when the bin is full and is designed to handle pet hair better....I love my roomba, but my sister is notoriously bad about NOT dumping the bin so it can become messier than helpful at times, when full...ARGH! Hence why I want the one w/the sensor to tell you when to dump it...LOL...

you can check out all the diff models at the roomba site

BTW....good to see ya around Amanda...been a long time How ya been doin'? How's school? Your pups? Everything?

Totally awesome and worth the investment! Perhaps the newer models are better .. but watch the battery connections coming loose.

I want the newer model that handles pet hair better too, Dirt Dog.

thanks for the feedback!
I think I am going to get the pet hair one. between my hair(I'm quite a shedder with plenty o' hair to pass around!) and my pooch's hair, it will be busy.
so clutter messes it up? I try to keep my floors as clear as possible for ease of movement around the house. but, this actually may be a greater push to get my bf to pick his crap.

I'm doing well. school is a forever longing process in my life....definitely a professional student. I'm back down to one dog now. : ( but, am looking for another. overall life is grand.

My dog hates the vacuum cleaner....he chases and barks really high and shrill at it. I can see it now with a roomba....Harley would never sleep again...LOL

But it seriously works well for dog hair? Cus my dof looses way too much and I would be afraid to wreck it.

Don't they have one that will wash the floor too?
