Tornado time again!

This one was weird. A rainy day, some thunder, no hail, kinda chilly. No tornado warnings but the sirens go off. An F3 had formed a mile or so away. The people that got hit said they never heard it, never saw it. I went out and sat by the shelter with my computer and my dog. The only reason I took it seriously is that the power flickered. We have underground lines, and that is unusual.

We're really spoiled nowdays, everybody is so shocked at having no warning. I can't remember the last time that happened...

A handful of injuries, the news said they thought a truck driver had a broken back, no fatalities, so we got luckier than they did in the Panhandles of TX/OK the night before.

This one kinda looked like it went up towards clc's, he is a total tornado magnet. Hope all is well up there.

So it is officially Springtime. Every year I wind up with my laptop and my precious rally files, sitting in that tornado shelter!

Saw the destruction on the news and that it was near you. Glad to hear you are ok, hope Carl is too. Looks like it could be a wild spring.

So do you have a ramp down into the shelter?

Hey Beth, you had a double post, I removed one of them, must have clicked twice. Glad your ok and did not get hit by the tornado. It must be stressful in thinking everything you have could be wiped out. Seems like a lot of tornados out west the past few months? Hopefully it wont raise insurance rates too much. Mine went up because I am along the coast on the Ocean. Give me a call when you get a chance, I called you last week and never heard back from you.

Glad your okay Bethany.

They had a bad one across the state line in Holly, CO and the one that hit near Beaver, OK yesterday was just 2 miles from my aunt and uncle's place. I think one of the hardest things is not knowing wether your family and loved ones are safe when a storm hits near their home. I can deal with what is going on around me but when I don't know what is happening to my loved ones that's another story.
Betheny ~ You'll have to post pictures of your shelter. I'd like to know how you made it accessible. Hope you don't have to head for your storm shelter too many times this year.

Does anyone build there homes in the ground there? We have some pretty mean storms in Florida, but you guys seem to get hammered.

if you rememer the tornado from miami downtown 1996 .i was there ,it was very scary.i was running like a rabbit.
