This is the reason I don't go out with my sister and her boyfriend much anymore. The first time it was just scary to me (I'm so not a fighting person). But after it happens 4 or 5 times you go out, it gets ridiculous. They know now that if they get arrested for being drunk, ignorant, and beligerent, they can find someone else to bail them out of jail. I won't do it.

I agree that you should be proud of your brother. Don't feel that he didn't fight just because you were there--he's probably more responsible than that anyway.

I myself will avoid a fight espicialy a bar fight at all cost but on the other hand when somebody is just plain stupid or out of line I will be the first to say somthing.

I have had a few rounds in my chair. Man what a workout too. Most times the person will just talk smack that there not gonna fight a crip. I always say you might woop me then again you might not or I sure would hate to have to go home and tell my Mama I got my ass wooped by a guy in a wheelchair.
But usally you will have plenty of Pal's around that will have your back no matter what.
Just remeber once you commit to it get your hands on em and take em down. Put some UFC moves on there ass and dont break a hip.
FWIW - I find that the few times in this life that I've thrown a punch from a chair, much of the power is lost because my forward momentum causes the chair to roll backwards. Also, I keep my (manual) chair hair edge tippy, and it doesn't take much for me to wind up on my back, especially when swinging up at a standing person. (please don't ask how I know this). "Rolling with the punches" takes on a whole new meaning.

Like you say, you don't want to be on the ground with somebody standing over you. But if you can take somebody down and stay on top, it helps your odds of getting out alive. DON'T let them get back on their feet. Pull hair, bite, head butt, whatever. Fighting is mostly focused aggression, and no points are awarded for style. Try to get something hard of yours striking something soft of theirs.

Best technique is to head the other way when the stupidity meter starts to rise. But if somebody gets between you and the door...

Nah, just a few excitable boys who lost control of their senses and started hurting people. Whole thing probably lasted less than 10 minutes, which was long enough for some folks to get banged up pretty good. Next day it was like it never happened, except for one of my friends having a black eye and swollen face. He still has a little bruising after two weeks. He's a good guy who showed a lot of heart and probably kept more folks from getting hurt, but no good deed goes unpunished. I came out unhurt, still it was a no fun event.

Please don't think this is a regular occurrence here, it's not.
