something other than vicodin?

So, I have been taking vicodin since my accident in 04'. I am still taking the same amount that I started on. 2 tablets twice a day. 500mg. I know that vicodin has alot of asprin and is really bad for your liver and kidneys. I am not that good in the healthy kidneys department. I get scared that it is going to catch up to me one day and I'm pretty much in bad shape. I just want to know what other pain meds are out there that are not as bad for you. or is there any other methods to help back pain. Any suggestions help. thanks!

Lots of sex with your boyfriend will help, like every morning as well as every night. Just make sure you keep up on that and also check on the accupuncture like we talked about

2 500 mg tablets twice a day? which would be 2000mgs?
that number is for the tylenol like med, Acetaminophen.
max daily dose of that is 4000 a day. sure is a subject to talk about with your doctor. it is great you have good pain relief !

first of all, there is no aspirin in vicodin. Vicodin is either 5.0, 7.5 or 10 mg of hydrocodone mixed with tylenol.the 500 mg number you quoted is the amount of tylenol in the pill.regular vicodin contains 5.0 of hydrocodone, vicodin es has 7.5 mg of hydrocodone and vicodin hp has 10 mg of hydrocodone.FYI: Dr. House takes 2 vicodin es everytime he pops pills

The only thing you have to worry about is the Acetomenophen in the Vicoden. That is what is bad for your liver. I have been on it for a while for excruciating hip pain. My joints are worn out.

An overdose of acetaminophen can cause serious harm. The maximum amount of acetaminophen for adults is 1 gram (1000 mg) per dose and 4 grams (4000 mg) per day. Taking more acetaminophen could cause damage to your liver. One Vicodin tablet may contain up to 750 mg of acetaminophen. Know the amount of acetaminophen in the specific product you are taking.
If your medicine contains 650 mg of acetaminophen or more per tablet, take no more than 5 tablets in 24 hours. If your medicine contains 500 mg or less of acetaminophen, take no more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. Tell your doctor if the medicine seems to stop working as well in relieving your pain
