Breast Implants..
I know there was a forum on here about women wanting to get breast implants,to make us feel better and so on...
well, I have been wanting breast implants since before my accident,so I decided screw it you live once,do what makes me feel better. So, as much as I thought of how much of a pain it would be for my healing process,I never thought it would be like this. I got the surgery on Tuesday the 6th and its now been almost 3 days and im still hurtin pretty bad.Being a para and having a surgery is about the worst mix especially only having my upper half to do everything and then I lost all of that about an hour after the surgery.I have never been in this kind of pain, but I am VERY happy about the results and just cant wait to heal up all the way. So, to any women wanting to get any kind of surgery make sure you have a buff guy/women to do just about everything for you. I didnt think I would dread every transfer that my boyfriend does for me,but its the most painful part.just thought I would let all the ladies know who are thinking about getting tatas. Either way, pain or no pain, whatever makes you feel better about yourself, I say GO FOR IT. cause I did...

You will be able to move and stuff a lot easier once you get used to how your body feels. You probably still feel like "tight" or "stiff" and aren't comfortable with moving. I can say though that you should get back to your normal routine as soon as possible. Don't baby yourself for too long-move your arms around and upper body as much as possible, but do obey the weight restrictions.

What kind did you get? Anyone know anything about the "gummy bear" implant? I heard that it is a shorter recovery just wondering if it was true. One other thing I was wondering is how does getting implants change the ability to find/detect breast cancer?
I hope you are glad you got the surgery, I know I have thought about it but I am worried I would be wasting my money on something that would just be getting in the way

Im gonna take a guess and say you went under the muscle. Under the muscle has a longer healing time than on top of the muscle. Everyday will just get better and better for you. I had to wear that surgical bra and like an ace bandage type thing wrapped really tight around them. I think that was the worst part of the whole procedure!! You can still detect cancer having implants too. It isn't as easy as without them, but you still can. Implants under the muscle are easier for detecting cancer. So fill us in...if you want to that is...how many cc's, what shape??

were there any extra concerns your surgeon had because of sci? or things he/she needed to know beforehand? also...i always wondered if insurance would pay for complications that could result if they didn't pay for the actual surgery?
