Yes, let's get back to discussing the merits of Pu-erh as a beverage and you posting about it as such now and then.

I suppose I should apologize but this is just too funny.
Sorry about no responding earlier to this. I have been trying hard to catch up with the posts and have fallen many days behind.

I just came back from trips into China and Taiwan and find that most restaurants and shops favor green teas. Green tea is the favorite gift of Taiwanese to you when they meet and say goodbye. I came back with about 4 packages of green tea. Interestingly, in many places in China, the restaurants do not serve Pu'er tea. In Chengdu (Szechuan), Taipei and Hualien (Taiwan), I went to a couple of tea shops and saw only green teas for sale. Black teas are available but mostly at supermarkets and I get the impression that they are looked down on, in much the same way that coffee drinkers may look down on instant coffee. In Taiwan, according to my brother who has travelled there, thousands of family boutiques produce green teas. They are drunk "in season". There are places, for example, outside of Taipei, where hundreds of women are hawking their family teas and you are invited to their house to taste the tea. You go away with a lighter wallet and laden with tea if you are brave enough to accept.

Wise.

Teaware from Mountain Rose

I linked the MountainRoseHerbs site in another thread recently and today, while searching for herbal tea info, I found that they've got a fair selection of quality teaware at very reasonable prices.

Anyone interested in getting a cast-iron or glass teapot can find some very nice ones here.

Cool, I ordered my first batch of green rooibos from them but it was loose which made the process of putting it into tea balls too labor intensive for a quad.

This morming I made a pot of green (sencha, the "tea of Japan) tea and increased its antioxidant powers by three to five times by drinking a large cup of pure grapefruit juice along with it.

This combination was suggested in the thread posted by Seneca:
Citrus juice boosts green tea antioxidants so I guess, assuming I continue to dial in on this great idea, I owe her a thank you. Antiquity, thank you.

Avoid grapefruit juice. It can interfere with proper metabolism of so many medications that we recommend avoiding it all together and no longer serve it or grapefruit at our hospital. Other citrus seems to be OK.

Something special

TenRen's Tart Preserved Plums with Green Tea is a popular snack enjoyed with a cup of tea. These moderately tart yet sweet plums consists of semi-dried whole plums tempered with green tea. Each plum is individually foiled wrap for freshness and there are approximately 15 plums in each package. Net weight of plums is 4.58 oz (130 g) and the shipping weight is 0.29 lbs.
