I think we'll see a lot of ancient cities being unearthed in Afghanistan, dating back to the Bactrian-Greco state that existed in Afghanistan and Uzbhekistan so long ago. This state flourished from long before Christ to long after, but was overrun by native peoples sometime in the first millenium.
When the Greeks and others who lived there fled from the invading warriors, they left their cities and buried their gold and valuables nearby. Over the years the cities became buried under newer cities, etc., and many (maybe most) haven't been found. There's a lot of treasure buried in these areas of Afhganistan, and maybe someday peace will allow for archaeologists to start to excavate.
