Dysreflexia and Atrial Fybrillation (sp.)
Can Autonomic Dysreflexia be the cause of Atrial Fybrillation (or auricular fybrillation)??
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Atrial Fibrillation is hwat you are referring to. It does appear that SCI people are at a greater risk of cardiac excitability, which can correct itself following the injury. There are some antecdotal and research based findings on this topic. http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/showthread.php?t=8386 www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=205914 0&dopt=Abstract Let me know if you have further questions. This is a case 13 years post injury. A friend was documented as having atrial fibrillation and doctors rule out dysreflexia as a possible cause. My concern has been that dysreflexia has been ruled out. Now comes the Atrial fibrilation test result. This was accompanied by 170/125 high blood pressure followed by bradycardia (episodes of less than 30 bpm).
