Restored LCD Monitor - yea or nay?

I'm looking into finally getting flat screen lcd monitor(s).
I have a few dell machines at home and looked on their web site and saw that they have refurbished units available at discount.
Anyone have any advice on wether or not such a purchase would be a good or bad idea?
Thanks

I've bought refurbished electronics and have been happy. Just make sure there's a decent warranty.

Yupper, with qualifications.... if the warranty isn't the same as a new one or
by buying an extended warranty to make up the time difference and remaining a bargain, then I'd get a new one.
I have found that on high cost items, an extended warranty is wise. I buy used computer parts and am generally pleased.
The opportunity to get a lemon exists whether it is new or used. Gotta weigh the potentials here.

I will add you should TRY to see a working model the same as it in a store somewhere. There are widely different picture quality lcds out there. My nephew got one that is so sorry it hurts to look at it, just plain fuzzy. BUT he likes it. Guess that is what matters.

Thanks
I see Dell monitors all over on the job - I think I'd be real happy with one at a good price. (Not promoting Dell btw - my laptop is a Thinkpad and I would not trade!)
