Happy news about my small boy!
Totally, totally off topic from SCI, but totally on topic to our lives
- the email below was a true pleasure to send out! In a quick recap; my son was deaf in his right ear until ......Dearest friends and family, (Small Boy) went to (Dr. Ear) today, who is the surgeon who operated on his ear in a marathon surgical session last June, right before school started. Today was his last surgical follow-up because now, at 6 months out, the swelling has completely gone down and the hearing is now fully restored to hatever his final level would be forever., First, we already knew that the surgery was at least partially successful because it was completely obvious that his hearing was improved. But today it was confirmed – HE CAN HEAR!!! He has a very minor loss in a mid frequency range but this is more or less functionally not important because he has FULL hearing in all other ranges in both ears. This is just fantastic news and I have just been giddy with happiness all day! J After all of the anxiety that came before the surgery, then the surgery and the wait … this was a truly great day. Cheers to (Small Boy) and his awesome, beautiful, hearing ears! Love to all, Ami |
