2001 Acura CL 3.2
I have a nice one I am planning to look at when owner is back in town. Low miles, original owner.
I will get a chance to try it Friday... does anyone have experience with Acura or 2 Door Honda Accord Coupe? My biggest concern is easy transfer. ( I'm getting old!) Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks, Paul |

I'm in the process of buying an 04 acura rsx. Transfers are pretty simple. I hit it on my first try.

2001 Honda Accord Coupe V6
I bought an '01 Accord this past August and it works GREAT! I have plenty of room to put my chair in either the front, back seat, or truck (depending on how many passengers I have). Also, since it is a coupe and fairly low to the ground, the transfers are really easy...even on those days when you aren't feeling 100%.
I was thinking of an Acura or a Mini Cooper, but got tired of waiting for a good one to become available. Good luck on the car shopping and I hope you get the ride that you want! |

I have a friend w/ a 4dr Accord -- transfers really aren't that bad height-wise. It's a little lower and I use a board, but can get in/out independently (C6/7). The pillar gets in the way of my butt a little though; I'd imagine the 2dr would be cake.

Hey! Were almost the same level; I am the proud owner of a 1997 Acura Integra GS. I'm a pretty big guy, so it was a little awkward at first. I would use the board to get out of the car since it was low compared to my chair. But now I don't even use the board. The chair fits nicely over the back seat (when I need to stow the wheels on it if I have a passenger), or ON the backseat, (with the wheels on the front passenger's seat) if I'm riding solo. If you want any more info, PM me.

Thanks to all. I made purchase of Acura tonight. 41,000 miles, garage kept, original owners & wife's car. The transfer works very well and should only get better with time.
I was looking for 2 door Accord. The Acura is more luxury than I was looking for but it kind of fell in my lap after long search for a good accord. I'll adjust :>) Here is the car and color. The interior on the one I am getting is a bit fancier ( woodgrain) but tatseful. Also, no navagation system which is fine with me. Thanks again to all. http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/Acura32CL/photos.htm Last edited by ChesBay; 12-07-2006 at 10:56 PM. |
