for you talking head fans

CBGB'S closed last night, i happen to be wandering by with my cousin and there is the bar called the gallery next door, that was relatively empty , we camped out in there , and as the evening proofread some of the performers stopped in.
the blond is Tina from talking heads and so is the white haired guy, not sure who the red sweat shirt guy was, but he was well known by the talking heads people.
Lisa the girl using the WC interviewing Tina was putting together her own podcast

we were next door to cbgb, we were in the cbgb's gallery which is a bar/coffee shop annexed to cbgb.s. my cousin had performed dance in there and knew it was a open to the public, the lines and crown outside cbgb was huge, we went into the gallery and it was pretty empty, grabbed some chairs along the wall and just hung out as the place filled up with old time cbgb regulars that didn't want to wait on line to get into the main venue. interesting crowd

I used to live just around the corner from there - passed it all the time, and went there a few times. Lenny Kaye, Patti Smith's guitarist, also lives (or did live at that time) very near, met him once. Shame the whole area is becoming so very expensive that places like this can no longer exist.
