Nothing is ever perfect, but the other categories aren't appropriate answers for me either....can't contribute to the poll

A definite 'yes - SUCKED' on my part. I can safely say that my first chair nearly killed me. It was a quickie folder that (among other issues) was much too wide, and the footrests were adjusted too short for my legs. It had the stock upholstery back, which stretched out so I was leaning back literally between the posts since they were so far apart. Between my awful posture and having my knees lifted, all my weight was centered on my tailbone. The crappy foam cushion was no match for that, and I ended up with a massive infected pressure sore. Staph infection, long hospitalization and recovery, etc. I was only 13 at the time, but I learned a bit later that I was very lucky to survive.

It's very frustrating looking back at it. My parents and I were completely ignorant of what I needed, so we had no choice but to trust what the 'experts' had to say, and go with their recommendations. Even after the pressure sore ordeal, the only change that was recommended was a new Jay gel cushion. It wasn't until my father and I ran into a more experienced wheelchair user and had a conversation with him in a parking lot that we learned how ill-fitting my chair was.

That guy turned out to be Jim Martinson, and we bought one of his Shadow rigid-frames before he sold the company to Quickie. THAT chair fit like a glove.

Mine was action 2000 also too wide for hallway and bathroom in my old tiny flat. NHS issue though, but managed to get them to reassess me, but next chair wasn't that much narrower and had to have arm rests and anti tips on or they wouldn't give vouchers towards it!

The wheelpin kept coming out of Action 2000 so every so often the wheel would drop off... lol!

First chair was a fully reclinable E&J. Huge, heavy and difficult to push.

My first chair was a borrowed, wrong size XLT9000 - it lasted less than a day. I've been in my 2nd 2 months now, also borrowed; it's a Q2 with better (but still wrong) fit. I'm currently eagerly awaiting the arrival of my own first chair: TiLite AeroZ. The VA fit me for it, but I consulted you here first. The VA basically just confirmed/accepted the measurements you guys taught me how to make. We'll see how 'perfect' I measured when it arrives . I am expecting to receive CAD drawing by end of this week.

PS: I didn't vote.
