I like the machine
Very Well made imop and heavy duty The only weak spot I find on the machine is the built in charger My built in charger took a dump been replaced a year ago but the body piece where that plug is located broke so I am using my external charger to charge it up . ( Built onboard Charger With gauge ) The exact location where it is mounted is weak and the area is prone to cracks in the plastic surrounding the plug in end ( Female) on the actual chair body Good luck Sincerely ; Gypsylady

I have the Quantum 6000 (no Z, must be an earlier model) and I like it a lot. I have tilt in space, and I like the "shock absorbers" that come on the chair, although they take a little getting use to in the beginning if you have never had them on a chair before. It is a well made chair with a good charge distance.

Thanks ladies!
I've never dealt with a onboard charger, so do you have a plug hanging? I'm excited about the shock absorbers, this painful body needs all the help it can get. ![]() The seating looks really comfy. I was wondering about getting the slicker material vs. cloth but don't want to attract hot or cold temps when unwanted. I don't need to feel like I'm sitting on leather seats in the summer by no means.

I have one and I like it. My last wheelchair was a first generation Q6000. Two of the more obvious changes are a cleaner design and better electronics. Mine has the Tru Balance tilt/recline with the center post legrests. Those legrests are a lot nicer because you see your legs and shoes instead of so much hardware on the sides. The joystick is much larger, but it has an LCD display with a speedometer, odometer, clock, real-time battery status in 1% increments, and a dial where you can turn down the speed on each profile. I also ordered mine with a smaller padded headrest which is not as noticeable and nicer than a large solid one. Right now I'm waiting on some thigh supports, I need some of the speed adjustments changed with a programmer, and something needs to be done with the power legrests because my feet don't make proper contact when they are extended.
For me it was the choice between this chair and the Permobil C500. |

It's a solid chair but I wouldn't take it off-road. And I like off-road.

I agree you have to be careful where the pavement ends. That's true of all midwheel drive chairs.
There are no onboard chargers on the Q6000 chairs. They charge through the joystick with a charger. Another nice thing about the 6000z is it has a much smaller charger than the 6000. Last edited by doingtimeonmyass; 06-18-2010 at 06:07 PM. Reason: typo |

Thanks for more advice guys.
I guess it won't be the chair for me. I live & play in the country, so I NEED off road! I'm waiting on a demo, I guess it probably won't pass the gravel drive, bumpy yard & woodsy test. Bummer b/c I like it's looks alot!

I'm in an ugly Pronto base, mid-wheel with rehab seating. It does ok in gravel & in parts of my yard. Put it this way, I keep my cell phone with me because getting stuck has been an issue. I really want something that will handle hikes with friends too, that's important. Being realistic, of course, a chair that with climb tree roots, uneven ground & small stones. I'm not expecting a 4x4 but a true tough chair.
