Every time i pee i sweat prefusely above the level of my injury (c5/6). Is this AD? or something else. Can anyone help as this is a little embarrasing.

AD

Yes, it is most probably AD. I assume you are voiding with an external catheter? This probably indicates that you are voiding with excessively high pressures.

When were your last urodynamics? It is especially important to have this done at least every 2 years, and more often if you are having problems, if you use an external only. One of the reasons we are not using externals as much as we used to is that we know that many men who use them are voiding with and against high pressures.

Sounds like AD to me.
Are you taking a bladder med. Detrol or Ditropan, that may help as the catheter is making your bladder spasm.

Just my opinion.

It also could be indicative of the burning sensation you would normally feel when trying to void if you had a urinary tract infection.

Never heard of the drug you're taking. What's it for?

Probanthine is an anticholergic drug like Detrol or Ditropan. It is a much older drug, and rarely used today as it has much more severe side effects than either of these new drugs.

hydro, what is your level of injury? Are you able to intermittent cath? When you say convene drainage, I think you are saying you used only an external catheter and void (Conveen is a brand of external condom catheter).

Were you put on the probanthine due to high pressures on urodynamics? This would be the most likely reason to do this. If you do not want to do intermittent cath, or cannot, you may need to look into some method of decreasing our bladder outlet resistance. This would include procedures such as sphincterotomy (cutting the external urinary sphincter) or inserting a urethral stent.

Is your urologist a specialist in neurologic urology? Is he/she very experienced in SCI care? It is important to work with such as urologist, as many do not have specialized training in this area.

A ureteral stent (in the ureter from the kidney to the bladder) is different from a urethral stent (holding open the external sphincter). It is likely that your reflux is also caused by having a high pressure bladder. You need urodynamics, and soon.
