Wall of Hope

I have spoken with numerous members of CC. Many have the enthusiasm to attend the Work2Walk Rally in DC. However, the cost and the timing present obstacles. Many of the younger crowd have conflicts due to school and the fact that they are broke. Others are international members and such a visit is out of the question. And unfortunately some of you are not well enough to travel. Accordingly, I've been trying to think of a way everyone might participate and represent CC and provide support to the CRPA and respect the legacy of Christopher Reeve.

Obviously, the organizers would rather have you there in person to show solidarity. If, however, that is impossible you can still be a part of the symposium/Rally. All you need do is send me an email, preferably with a picture, injury level, DOI, name and a brief message expressing your support for the effort.

I will make it my duty to see that these messages appear on a bulletin board or wall at the symposium for all the attendees to see and read. We need to let those who can and do make the journey know that their peers are there in spirit with them. Christopher Reeve gave every ounce of the life he had remaining in him after his injury to bring understanding, relief, and above all, hope to those experiencing SCI. I encourage you to give him "a thumbs up" and be represented.

Help me to create a "Wall of Hope" that all attendees may view.
Submit a post here with the info and attach a photo or send these to pmdello@-nospam-yahoo.com or 5640 Alder Road, Hood River, OR 97031. If you email, be sure to drop the -nospam- from the address.

Thanks,

John

I intend to keep inviting all members to join us in DC. If you cannot be there physically then take advantage of this opportunity to be there in spirit.

Send me a photo along with DOI and level of injury and a brief note. I will post these for everyone to see. Send to pmdello@-nospam-yahoo.com. Please identify CC in the subject line.

Hi John

I replyed in this thread yesterday, thanking you for your hard work and telling you what a great idea this is, but it seems to have disappeared.

Anyway, I sent you an email with my husband's photo and story this morning.

I hope EVERYONE who cannot attend the rally does the same. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for allowing those of us who would love to attend, but can't to be included in the strong numbers supporting this cause.

I've heard from the Marines, and I've heard from England, Canada, and Australia and South Dakota, Minnesota, California, Oregon. Give me more! Help me to paper the wall of the Reagan Building with your support and photos.

Don't wait until the last minute. Send them now to pmdello@-nospam-yahoo.com.

John

Edited to add Florida, Massachusetts, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, France...
