Weird Pain
Okay. So I've been doing this for just over two hours now, nonstop. I'm feeling kinda bad from whatever is causing this. I don't want to breathe all the way in because it's so sharp. It's not related to my breathing, but my body is tensing from the pain.
Under my left arm, across my chest halfway and halfway down my upper left arm I keep getting a cold, sharp, grippy kind of pain. It's almost rhythmic. I feel it like every three to ten seconds and it lasts half a second to a second. In the past six months I've done this on and off, but it has always passed after a minute at most. Any ideas what I can do or what's causing this? I've tried pressing on it, moving, laying down and it's still doing it, whatever it is. I don't feel any muscles tightening in the area when I check with my right hand, which is where I have the most feeling. Is this some new, bizarre spasm? I'll call my doc in the a.m., but morning seems light years away. I hate complaining. Help!

Thanks, Mike. I'm still feeling it and it's worse. I'd throw up from pain if I could, but I don't throw up. I'll post in Care.

Are you serious? I'm too young for that, right? No risk factors like smoking, unhealthy diet. If I don't feel better in a few, I may do it. Something isn't right.

44 isn't too young. Take a half aspirin and go to the ER.

Women should learn the heart attack warning signs. These are: Pain or discomfort in the center of the chest. Pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper body, including the arms, back, neck, jaw, or stomach. Other symptoms, such as a shortness of breath, breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea, or light-headedness. As with men, women's most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and back or jaw pain. |

Thanks for being on the ball with this one Bethany. You were spot on that she needed to be checked out.

I just saw this thread and am glad that Betheny is on the ball and suggesting the cause and urging the action.
Be well; we need you; you need you and...I need you. I'm really hoping you'er all right and that you will take care of yourself and be back soon.
