A joyous dream
I had a glorious dream last night. We were all playing soccer in a CC tournament. I don’t think I gave any of you faces but I felt a few strong personalities that make me smile. And I woke still feeling the exuberant feeling of jockeying with my legs for the ball.
I know others have written about this but I don’t remember the common experience. For years I was totally un-selfconsciously functional in my dreams, inhabiting my old reality. Now there are crutches and a wheelchair in my dreams, but only because I am ever noticing how I’m managing without them, not really needing them. Last night we all were playing as if it were just normal natural life, nothing to notice. I’m taking it as a good sign.. Does anyone have a grandparent who seems not to register your challenges? Gram remained perfectly sharp to 89 but seemed never to remember my diagnosis, notice my faltering function. At the same time she was uncannily intuitive, if unaware of it. Someday maybe I’ll share her eulogy. I took her seeming dismissal of them as a sign that my problems will be a short phase, not a central defining aspect of my life.. So by extension, our future looks bright. I send you all that energy, with a smile. We played a mean game of soccer. |

Wonderful, singin. Good thing also about these dreams is that they not only raise hope but also make the days lighter to deal with in my experience. Don't lose hope that it will happen one day.
Would love to hear about your granny. I think with me, it was one of my older brothers. He never let anybody tell me stuff that would discourage me. He supported every effort I made on my behalf and even encouraged me to buy a home on my own. Thank you Manuel and I miss you very much. BTW, who won? ![]() Raven Last edited by Raven; 01-16-2006 at 01:36 AM. |

Raven,
I don’t really remember who won, but if you’ll forgive the corniness--of course we all did. Your brother sounds like a very worthy hero. Thanks, I welcome any opportunity to celebrate Gram with anyone who will listen. So here goes… Sorry folks, if anyone is looking, I took it out. Singin in the rain,
Thank you for that beautifully written post. You are lucky to have had such a person in your life. And even luckier to live with her legacy. Last edited by roshni; 01-18-2006 at 08:04 PM. |

Thank you for sharing with us, singin. Wish I had something as beautiful about my past generation but sadly I don't. I never knew my grandparents except for what my dad told me and my mom was an orphan at birth. But I am happy that you do have these memories and have shared them with me. Thank you very much, wonderful memories to hold dear. A great legacy.

I had a wild dream last night. I was finger bangin' this hot
asian girl as hard as I could and she was totally digin' it. Then when I woke up I realized I had my finger up my ass, which didn't bother me because I don't have feeling down there, but I was disappointed to find out that it was just a dream. I continued to bang my own butt with hopes that I would fall back asleep and finish her off, but my girlfriend told me if I didn't quit, she was going to sleep on the couch. |
