I suggest shower. At your level a quad in a tub would be difficult as you would probably need a pretty well built, besides caregiver
, lifting mechanism.With a shower, simply roll in/out. |

Shower. It provdes much easier access.
At my parents' house, two of their four baths have showers with built in seats. My Mom is AB, but likes the seats for shaving her legs. If you go with a shower, the women in your family might like a built-in seat, too. |

Definately a shower. Make it a roll-in shower so you can use the same chair to roll over the toilet for bowel care and then roll into the shower for a bath. This decreases the number of transfers required, is better on your skin, and much easier for your care giver.
If you have the resources, you might also want to consider a ceiling track lift for your home. This makes transfers easy by anyone, and gives you more flexibility about who provides care (and keeps your caregivers healthy!). (KLD) |
