Cool, it works...well, kind of. The A/V comes and goes. Not that I can watch it anyway (have to study for exams!).
I see two people speaking. LOL, just heard Dr. Young's voice in the background loud and clear..."we're going to take a fifteen minute break for coffee and bathroom"...and they're going to take "pictures of the speakers in the garden outside". It says the webcast will resume again for the next presentation. Wouldn't HK be 13 hours ahead of EST? I think its 10:37 AM on Saturday there (9:37 PM EST). EDIT: It's not so bad now. The video pauses alot but I can hear the audio for a good amount of time. I heard parts of the orthopaedic surgeon's talk (Keith LUK?). I think every other sentence in his talk mentioned something I have to know for my anatomy exam.

I couldn't get it to work last night, but tonight it is working great--even the Powerpoint slides, just a slight delay. Cool!! It feels like it is across the street instead of a world away. Coffee break now. I was able to watch part of keynote speech 3-"The present status of research on SCI in Mainland China". Wow.
Susan

I just listened to Dr. Huangs and Dr. Suns (Sp?) presentations. Q&A just ended with Dr. Sun. Wise jumped in during this session--Wise-you look GREAT!
Now: 3rd speaker--Dr Jiang re: clinical trials is beginning. Also on OEC's. Who else is watching? Everyone's English is very good. I just saw ProfessirX in the background listening intently--Richard, I'm so envious of you!! Last edited by Susan M; 12-17-2005 at 11:10 PM. |

Jo--try Video + Powerpoint; Floor Presentation, 100 K. The last speakers slides were in chinese and he wasnt speaking english, so I shut down for awhile. Lunch break and poster viewing are going on right now, so no streaming at the moment.
Good luck. |

Monique, The Cosmopolitan Hotel, where all the speakers are staying, is right on the outskirts of Wanchai where the demonstrations are occurring. Last night, the buses going back to the hotel were delayed an hour and half from the symposium, because the police closed off all the streets around the hotel. Wise.
