Feels like getting the dye

Over the last few nights, I wake up with a metallic taste in my mouth, feeling very dizzy, I get a sharp pain on the top of my head and my whole left side gets that warm, tingly feeling you get when you go for a catscan and they inject you with the dye. My heart rate and blood pressure go up slightly, but not much. My face gets flushed and my side stays tingly for about an hour or so. Also, all my teeth on the left side, feel hot and if I run my tongue of them they feel like I just had new fillings put in them.

I'm on a couple of different meds for blood pressure, fluid, migraines and thyroid, but I've been taking them for a while. My mother just thinks I'm having panic attacks.

Is this something I should get checked out? Over the last three months, I've had almost every test known to man....my doctor was trying to figure out why my blood pressure stays high even when she increases my meds, I walk for about 2 hours a day and have changed my diet completely. This has just started happening and I haven't eaten or done anything different. Does anybody else ever have this happen?

I typed in your symptoms in Google. Have you done that yet? Sure come up with a lot of reasons. Have you been to the dentist lately? Maybe something, hopefully, as simple as a bad tooth. Good luck. Your problem sure sounds worrisome and painful.

Feels like getting the dye

AlleighOops - Have you contacted your doctor? If not, I would urge you to do so. Please keep a journal of the symptoms you are experiencing, when they started, when they occur, how long they last, etc. This information will help your doctor better determine what is occurring.

Sometimes your body can build up a tolerance and sensitivity to medications that one has been taking for a long time. Some of what you describes sounds as though there could be a dental origin. Do you have any metal in your body, i.e. rods, pins, plates, etc? Are you taking Biaxin, which I know can cause a metallic taste?

The most important thing is that these are new symptoms; you are spinal cord injured and your usual warning system is not the same as it was before. It is important that you check this out with your doctor. CRF
