charging wheelchairs

Hi I am new here and I have a question...I was wondering where you charge your wheelchair. I presently am charging mine at ny bedside so I can use the chair when I need it. The chair has gel batteries and I want to know if they give off fumes when charging? I have been feeling sick in the mornings and I wonder if this could be the reason.

No. The cells are sealed. Gel does not boil while being charged like electrolites do. Thus no fumes, no explosions.
