suggestion for treatment tracking thread structure
please do not post yet at this thread. i am trying to set up a demo thread for tracking treatments to help to jump start Schmeky's idea.
to make sense, and to be easily traversable, this thread should be viewed (and replied to) in the threaded form. to select the threaded form (if it is not one's default), one has to go into the thread, then select from display modes the threaded mode. this thread has a tree structure. the first level below the root are the places where a treatment can be received: novosibirsk, beijing, lisbon, moscow, tijuana, equador, turkey, etc. the level below that would contain the members (attached to center where they were treated), and below every user there would be two branches, report and questions. the report thread would contain only posts from the fellow who received the treatment. in the questions anyone would be able to post. because this would be only one thread in the forum, it would be possible to make it sticky, so no one would have to dig for it. also, moderators should be maintaining it, to minimize the level of noise. i.e. no "get well", "thinking of you", "me too", "me too" posts should be in this thread. and if something was accidentally misplaced by a poster, the moderators should relocate the post to the right place in the thread. we should give some structure to the reports, so it could be more easily parsed later. a simple thing would be to have a beginning of a section tag. a section would go until the next tag or until the end of the text. the section tags would be say: <bowel>, <bladder>, <sex>, <sensation>, <finger>, <leg>, <arm>, <comments>, <diagnosis>, <treatment> and whatever we come up in say a week. normally, new tags can be added down the road. so a report post would contain only those tags that are described in the given post, those that would contain some change, new info, etc. so the first report post can be something like this: <diagnosis>accident happened on day, t whatever para, asia whatever, blah, blah, blah <bowel>nothing voluntary <bladder>nothig voluntary ... <comments>whatever you want to add here the next post can be say the one you describe the treatment: <treatment>on the day xx i have received the next treatment: and you describe it here as fully as possible <comments>how did you take it, how do you feel, whatever you think might be interesting later. you can add things like <sensation> or whatever, if there was some change. after some time the next post comes, for example <bladder>stareted to feel when it is full <comment>using fes three times weekly, standing twice, and living the life. i will add a discussion subthread to this root node too, so for practice, and for discussion we can use this thread to discuss this recommendation. if you feel so. |
